Welcome to Ballymena Chamber Orchestra

Ballymena Chamber Orchestra is a charitable organisation that exists to promote classical music through concerts, festivals, schools programmes and workshops.

The orchestra consists of musicians from Ballymena and across Northern Ireland: professional musicians, teachers and advanced students, and welcomes applications for new membership.  The orchestra is supported by a voluntary committee which oversees all aspects of orchestra life and development.

The orchestra was founded by Rebekah Durston, its Artistic Director and an experienced professional violinist and tutor.  It has an educational, intergenerational and cross-community focus and gave its debut Concert by Candelight in St. Patrick's Church of Ireland as part of Ballymena Arts Festival in October 2006.

The orchestra has recently performed with a newly formed choir under the direction of Paul McQueen to much acclaim.
